My "Arnie Story" Didn't Happen!

I was about 53 years old and Arnie was playing at the Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord MA on the Senior Tour. I was standing directly outside the rope on  one of the tees and Arnie had just hit his shot on the Par 3. He walked along the just inside the ropes looking into the gallery. He came to me and looked me right in the eyes and I looked him right in the eyes. His eyes and smile were warm and friendly. Mine were also. I was going to have some fun with him, by pointing my finger at him and saying, "because of you I've led a miserable existence." But the reticent 13 year old me who had worshipped him, stifled the 53 year old me. Arnie turned away and the momment passed. If I had said it, I sure he would have laughed loudly, and I, and the gallery would have too. When the laughter had subdued, both my 13 and 53 year old selves would speak from their hearts and say "you're always going to be the man." Thank you for the opportunity to tell my story.
